Wee Check Glaschu (Gla-shoo) The Scottish Gaelic name for Glasgow. It translates traditionally as "dear green place”. A hallmark of Glasgow Style, the artistic movement which enveloped the Glasgow Girls’, their iconic check became a rhythmic, abstract motif carried throughout much of their work.
